I have what looks to be an early 60's pressing of hot and blue guitar that says stereo on the sleeve but makes no mention on the label. Is it mono or rechanneled stereo? I've seen conflicting opinions elsewhere.
Has a sun label and it was only 4 bucks so I took a chance on it.

If it makes no mention of stereo, it's most likely a "regular" pressing (mono). A quick listen should confirm this, right?

Most likely of Capitol Record Club origin. And if Stereo, will be rechanneled (and not so well).

Have a listen and find out!

    AFAIK, these are mono-only recordings.

If you're having a hard time telling if its mono or stereo from listening, your speakers are most likely out of phase. Try listening on headphones so you can hear what the channel separation is supposed to sound like, than fix your speakers if needed.

Haven't listened yet at home - just on the janky headphones at the record store - def sounded quoted with the mono switch on. Just wondering because an early press of that album would be awesome but not all that great if it's fake stereo
