Is this the coolest film of the nineties.

There is also Silence Of the Lambs
    which I rate highly,
plus QT's other flick Pulp Fiction.
    that came out that decade

But , I reckon this is his best film
not too mention a awesome soundtrack.

I don't feel as you do about being QTs best flick, but I really like it. You're right about the soundtrack though.

  3. My favorite flick from QT as well. Almost a perfect movie.

Agreed, Rum Punch was Leonard at his best. The book was better than the movie.

It's probably my least favourite of his (haven't seen Death Proof yet though) but I still like it.

Love this movie - both Jackie and Max are great characters and music is amazing. Easily my favorite of QT's.

I just bought this a Best Buy for $6 or so. Fun movie, although I haven't watched my blu-ray yet. Probably watch it this weekend.

Jackie Brown is my favorite of the QT movies. I wish he would of directed "Natural Born Killers" instead of Ollie Stone because he could of made that his masterpiece.

I like this movie a lot.

"The AK-47...When you absolutely, positively have to kill every MF in the room."

    Or something like that.

I remember when it came out, and it disappointed many of my peers for not being Pulp Fiction. I loved it for that very reason. I really want to read Rum Punch now, and other Elmore Leonard books. The Blu Ray is great for this movie.

+1. This is not as groundbreaking as RESERVOIR DOGS or PULP FICTION,
but it's a better, more coherent "film" with some awesome performances
by some of my favorite actors. I say this as a long-time QT fan who
enjoyed his entire output (except for the spotty and lazy DEATHPROOF).

Love it. I hate to use the film critic cliché "a revelation," but Robert Forster was a revelation to me in this movie. He and Pam Grier are by far my favorite thing about Jackie Brown.

Jackie was always my favorite QT movie too, but I also love Stone's NBK. I understand all the criticisms the film gets (and that Stone gets), but I was just the right age and audience to be blown away by it when it was released and it still mostly holds up for me.

  23. When I saw Jackie Brown in about 1998, I remember being disappointed/bored with it. I think I was expecting Pulp Fiction II.

Maybe I need to see it again?

  25. Absolutely love this movie!

I know some complain that it's too slow but that is exactly what I dig about it. QT lets events unfold in a natural way not rushing anything with fast edits and all the other tricks you see in so many current films.

I really appreciate the gentle pace of the story.

And yeah, Robert Forster is just terrific in it! :righton:
