So, it's official: James Bond will return in 2015.

I'm sooo disappointed, hoping for a late 2014 release; apparently Wilson and Broccoli are giving Sam Mendes the time to do his stuff first, and then Bond

    Mendes says:
"I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24"

I loved Skyfall but imho the Bonds are very much producers-driven flicks and since Purvis and Wade (the weakest links) are now out of the franchise, with John Logan writing and a competent director a 2014 release might have been possible, instead not! They have to wait for Mendes.
If this is the new pattern, Craig will turn 50 and still play Bond. hmmm....

Sam did a great job. I think Craig re-upped for 3 more Bonds so he might be getting old by the last one.

They must have offered Sam quite a bit as he turned them down at first.

absolutely loved the last one, and really liked all 3 that craig did.

It was like they made bond somewhat real seeming finally.

Excited. I love all three of the films and they are three of my most watched blu-ray discs.

  7. I'd say that was true of the early Bond's with Connery.

Casino was really good. Solace I thought was crap. Skyfall was great. Looking forward to more.

It's not exactly a new pattern. Roger Moore was over 50 in 4 of his Bond films.

Daniel Craig Signs for 2 More James Bond Films After ‘Skyfall’

He'll only be 47 for the next Bond.
Sean Connery was 47 when he did You Only Live Twice.

I said "new pattern": jokingly since they have been saying it was a new phase with a young Bond, and seriously regarding the delays and regretting there's no more a two year gap from one movie to another. Actually, it's been that way for years and only 2 Brosnans and one Craig flicks were released two years apart

    No, he was 37:)

I always thought Connery looked at least 50 in "Diamonds are Forever" and he was barely over 40. It's like he aged 15 years between 1965 and 1971

I don't know why they don't hire their Bonds a little younger. Moore, Dalton and Brosnan were all in their early 40s when they started playing him, and even Craig was in his late 30s. Only Connery and Lazenby started (and in George's case, finished) playing him as relatively young men. (Though as mentioned above, Connery didn't look young for long -- he looks so old in "Diamonds Are Forever" that if he weren't still kicking I would wonder whether he had lied about his age.)

In Casino Royale Daniel Craig was supposed to be a new 00 agent, and two films later in Skyfall they're already writing dialogue about how old he is and how long he's been on the job!
