Almost every day now we seem to lose yet one more person that I looked up to as a kid.

    RIP.

Star of "Grand Prix". the F1 epic directed by John Frankenheimer who wanted Steve McQueen (who argued with the money men and subsequently made "Le Mans". Garner was a talented enough driver (certainly better than co stars Yves Montand, Brian Bedford or Antonio Sabato) that driver coach Bob Bondurant felt that if Garner had started early enough, he would be good enough to be an F1 driver. Not championship caliber but competent

you beat me to it. I used to watch Rockford as a kid with my dad and all I could think of was the episode where he kept being called "Rockfish"

I'm sad to hear of his passing.

I can't begin to describe how many hours of enjoyment I got from watching Rockford Files reruns over the years.
One of my all time favorite shows.

    A class act. RIP.

He was one of the greats. I fondly remember him from these charming series of ads for Polaroid.

    RIP.

This is sad news. This prompts me to re-watch The Rockford Files and Maverick -- two of the greatest TV shows ever.

  17. Such a great and versatile actor. Maverick, Rockford, and the Support your Local series were favorites....

... bit he will always be Pete Aron and I can hear some Jarre in the background.
