Im a huge Jay Kay fan, and the album is ok. They over did the Daft Punk stuff though. It was high on electronic gloss and low on FUNK

The Record Store Day 10" release of Automaton with only one b-side is going to be an eye watering £20...

Been getting into this album quite a bit. I'm not a massive funk or Jamiroquai fan, but the album is very enjoyable.

Bought the vinyl. Sounds lovely but there isn''t a single memorable song on here for me. Sounds like some B sides left over from A Funk Oddysee. Title track is ok but nothing like Rock Dust Light Star

The track Automaton in 24 / 96 looks brickwalled in Audacity but I just had it and a few others from the album playing very loud and it sounds good though harsh. I've ordered the vinyl now, looking forward to comparing

I bought the RSD 10" and the title track sounds fantastic to my ears.

Vinyl beats hi res here, in my opinion. In fact would go as far to say Hot Property is an excellent demo track.

Is there much difference between the vinyl and Hi-Res?

I've only got the MFIT version at present.

The UK vinyl sounds fantastic. In fact all Jamiroquai vinyl sounds fantastic including the Music on Vinyl reissues of the early albums. Just make sure you get the U.K. and not US version of Rock Dust Light Star.

I didn't find the high res anything special and haven't listened to it all. Whereas I put the vinyl on and listened to the whole thing.

Just joining the conversation... mine sounds horrendous. Anyone know where can I find the UK version?

I don't know about the RSD version. I originally bought a copy from Amazon US which was terrible, thin, crappy vinyl and plain non-gatefold cover. I then ordered from Amazon UK and it was completely different, gatefold full-color cover and excellent pressing.

I saw them in London, and not even the front row had much reaction to the new LP tracks (though videos and lightshow were impressive). There are a few good tracks, though much of it is forgettable and the songs that have good tunes are balanced out with ill-fitting dissonance. Still, the crowd reaction to Love Foolosophy and Virtual Insanity was the wildest I have seen at any gig.

I think the new album is great and the sound quality on the UK LP is awesome.
