Are you familiar with any of the old DVD editions of those films? I'm just curious because I have the Complete Daimajin trilogy set that was released by ADV in 2002, but according to dvdaf.com, the set is edited.... and I've never been able to find any further info about exactly what's missing. Further complicating things is the fact that ADV re-released the films individually in 2005, but of those reissues, only the second and third films are tagged as "uncut" on dvdaf.com... so does that mean the first film is missing some footage?
I'm afraid I have no information for you as the newest release is the only one I've ever had. (IMDb times don't match on two the titles)
Great recommendations in this thread! Cool to see there are lots of Sword of Doom fans here. Only got through the first 10 pages so far, but a few good ones I didn't see mentioned include: Memories 1995 Perfect Blue 1997 Mind Game 2004 Also, are there threads for Chinese and Korean film as well? Raise the Red Lantern and The Road Home are two of my faves
Oh, and for you fans of Realm of the Senses, make sure you check out Marty Friedman's masterful piece titled after the film.

Sorry if it's already been said, but one of my all-time favourite films is Takashi Miike's The Bird People In China... stunningly beautiful film, and worlds away from the material Miike's notorious for!
Criterions: The Complete Lady Snow Blood Toshiya Fujita's (Lady Snowblood & Lady Snowblood: Love Song Of Vengeance)
We can only hope. I'd love to see Night and Fog in Japan given the blu-ray treatment by Criterion (or Arrow, or Eureka). I picked up Death by Hanging in the recent Criterion flash sale, but it hasn't shipped yet.
Outlaw: Gangster VIP Collection (6 movies) Gangster VIP 1 Ganster VIP 2 Black Dagger Goro the Assassin Heartless Kill!
How are the films? I'm tempted by this box set, but it would be a blind buy, for me. I enjoyed Arrow's Battles Without Honour and Humanity set very much.
Speaking of yakuza films, there is hope for reformed gangsters: Meet the woman who makes fake fingers for Japan's reformed gangsters »
I watched and enjoyed two of these this morning. I thought the PQ was fine and there was nothing about the SQ that drew my attention away from the films. I'll probably watch the others this weekend as well.
Thanks for responding, but I was more interested in the quality of the filmmaking -- the plot, the pacing, the acting, the cinematography -- than Arrow's transfer. No matter, I've gone ahead and used some store points to order Outlaw: Gangster VIP for approximately £15. It's worth a punt for that kind of money. I've also pre-ordered the Female Prisoner Scorpion box set.
