    Happy Halloween Everyone!

What is, in your most humble of opinions, the best sounding version of Jeff Wayne's The War Of The Worlds? I have a chance at a sealed copy of the Columbia Half Speed, but the overwhelming opinion of these doesn't seem to be very good.

    Thanks,

    Keith

Great album. I know nothing about the half speed disc.

More than twenty years ago, I had the vinyl double album, which did not sound too badly, but - as I have said - this was many years ago and I have sold it. Since then I think I have purchased the album on CD twice. The version I have now sounds O.K. and has a beautiful booklet. The CD was "cut by Laurence Diana at CBS Studios, London 1985". I must admit I have no idea if there is a better sounding version out there. The CD ID: CDCBS 96000, DIDP 10413, LC 0149, Made in Austria.
    Happy hunting!

I have both the original Columbia pressing and the CBS 1/2 Speed. Save your money get the stock copy. No idea on the CD.
