Thanks for the link! Great news! Although Jim saying "I would say it’s a more mature sound for the Mary Chain" is a bit of a concern. I prefer my JAMC nice and immature.

I don't think it has been mentioned anywhere, but Youth from Killing Joke is producing the new album which he says is halfway done and should be wrapped up by the end of the year for an early 2016 release. His direct comment in a recent interview includes this:

"Well, the Reid brothers are still talking to each other! That's good, and the songs are phenomenal. It's sounding great. We're at the halfway stage now so it should be ready by the end of the year."

Great news. I'm surprised Youth is producing, but I guess it does make sense, since Killing Joke and Jesus and Mary Chain hit a peak and surge of fans in the 80's.

Still waiting! Their next live shows are scheduled for August so maybe the new LP will be a late summer release. If that's the case something should be announced soon.

Yup, and Killing Jokes roadie Alex formed The Orb. Other members of seemingly disparete bands connected with the Mary Chain ... well, we could go on, and on, and on...
    The Wake, KLF, Ministry...

The Jesus And Mary Chain seem to be a crossroads of sorts.

How about some other bands connected with the Mary Chain that we wouldn't expect?

The current JAMC drummer, Brian Young, plays on a lot of the new Monkees album, and since JAMC and Noel Gallagher share management, he was instrumental in getting Noel and Paul Weller to contribute a song. So there's a bit of an unexpected connection.

I saw the "Psychocandy" tour last year and thought they sounded great and have a good band. I'm optimistic about the new stuff sounding good.

No one can say they didn't take their sweet time. What's it been, 10 years since the reunion? Maybe longer?

How many new songs have they played over the years? All I know of is this one during the 2007 tour..Was pretty cool seeing Loz from Ride on drums and Phil from Lush on bass as the rhythm section at Webster Hall.

  20. Any links to the details?

Yeah! This is one of the few bands where such news excites me. Hopefully they have been away long enough that people will finally listen without starting the usual "...but it's not 'Psychocandy'" routine

Try using the term 'release', it may bring a more optimistic result
Looking forward to it also, thanks for the news
