The 5.1 is lossy compressed junk. All I am interested in is the 24/96 stereo version.

Do you really think they'd include a lossy 5.1 on the Blu Ray?

All I really want are the hi rez disks (DVD & Blu ray). I can't justify buying the entire bundle to get them. 150+ bucks? No way. I'll wait and see if a cheaper bundle appears sans vinyl and book. I was really enthused about this.

This post (question) is for Steven Wilson (unless somebody else can find a tracklisting floating around on the internet).

Steven, I'm sure you might not be able to give all the specific details yet regarding the package, but would you mind answering a few specific questions regarding certain bonus tracks?

Are these tracks included? And if so, did you a new stereo/5.1 mix for these tracks:

    1. "Lick Your Fingers Clean"
    2. "Wond'ring Again"
    3. "Life is a Long Song"
    4. "Up the 'Pool"
    5. "Dr. Bogenbroom"
    6. "For Later"
    7. "Nursie"

(1 is a bonus track on the last Aqualung remaster in 1998 and the rest are on the "Living in the Past" compilation from 1972)

Also, since the package is 2CDs and a DVD and a Blu-Ray disc, will it be organized like this:

CD 1 Original 1971 stereo mix with bonus tracks
CD 2 SW 2011 stereo mix with bonus tracks
DVD/Blu-Ray: SW 5.1; 70s Quad mix; SW stereo mix; 70s stereo mix

Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in. More reasons to spend cash.

Can't afford the deluxe with everything else going on but the Cd is an automatic.

    Thanks for the heads-up! :righton:

Aqualung is just one of those albums I love enough to spend big on a boxset.

It'll look nice next to my "In The Court Of The Crimson King" and "Dark Side Of The Moon" LP sized boxsets :D

Can't wait to hear Steven Wilson's mix, especially on vinyl. Pretty much everything he riches turns to gold.

Isnt there an alternate mix of Locomotive Breath that appeared on an early Reprise pressing? Will that be included?

they are good for that mistake...I've seen it there on many upcoming releases including DVD...I believe it's referring to the Unit...not the contents.

I'm not a fan of remixes, but at least we're getting both original and remix in the same 2 CD package.

Has it been confirmed that the Blu-ray is going to be lossy 5.1 and if so what are the specs? DVD lossy, or at least higher resolution lossy that BD is capable of?

I'm kind of hoping this shows up on HDTracks, like the hires from other deluxe packages that have come out lately. Of course, they don't seem to announce those until after the physical packages are out (and we've bought them).

I don't see the point of a BluRay if they are going to use the DVD lossy codecs. I assume they will use PCM or lossless codecs for everything including the multichannel mix.

    Wilson said standard Dolby Digital.

Yes, look at the recent uproar around here about other Blu Ray discs. A bad trend.

According to Steven Wilson and EMI, the 5.1 is Dolby Digital. That was early information and I sure do hope that they change their minds. I am a high rez 5.1 guy myself. :righton:

That was before a Blu-Ray was planned, when all we were going to have was a CD + a DVD-video...

Which "audio" BluRay discs use Dolby Digital?
