We need the original mix of The Rover without the strings taken out. (If it hasn't been mentioned)

I would be really surprised if that wasn't included.

Did the U.K. Aqualung LP also have the opening riff twice? I thought I read that it did.

Wilson's Benefit includes three versions each of "17," "Teacher" (UK) and "Teacher" (US) - original mono, original stereo, and new stereo remix.

It's a little different with "A Stitch in Time," because that was issued as two different edits of the same mix. If you put out the long version of "Stitch," you've also put out everything that's in the short version.

Getting back to Heavy Horses, there's a very strange percussion sound in the choruses on "Journey Man" - to me, it sounds like a stapler. K-chunk, k-chunk. Which I suppose makes sense because the song is about commuting office workers.

I like Songs From The Wood, but I haven't yet decided to get the new set. However, Heavy Horses is one of my favorite Tull albums and I will buy a Steve Wilson remix package in a heartbeat.

I think every album up to Crest of a Knave needs to be remixed. I hope Wilson does every album at least up to Broadsword (I hate the box sounding snare drum of the late 70's and early 80's albums).

So I understand with Broadsword that there are multiple tracks from the 20 Years Boxset and the Nightcap Sessions that didn't end up on the recent remaster, huh? When actually putting them together with the bonus tracks, do they work in that order or what would be a more suitable tracklisting? I did like what they did with the WarChild additional tracks and also the Too Old bonus tracks as well. Very soon, once I get round to acquiring both those aforementioned compilations, I'll try to put a tracklist together myself. And I'm going to finally give 'A' a listen at long last too, just so I can form an opinion of the record, as I'm hearing from some of you guys that the album could use a good remixing also.

  9. My Broadsword Part 2 tracklist:
    1) Overhang
    2) Motoreyes (from the 20 years box)
    3) Jack-A-Lynn
    4) Mayhem Maybe (with '88 vocal overdub)
    5) Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow
    6) Crew Nights (Nightcap)
    7) Down At The End of Your Road
    8) The Commons Brawl (Nightcap)
    9) Drive On The Young Side of Life (Nightcap)
    10) Rhythm In Gold
    11) I Am Your Gun
Bonus Track: Jack-A-Lynn (demo from Rocks on the Road single)
Further bonus tracks (none of these songs do much for me):
    The Curse (Nightcap)
    Too Many Too
    No Step (Nightcap)
    Lights Out (Nightcap)

Motoreyes, The Commons Brawl and Crew Nights are top shelf Tull IMO and should have been included on the remaster.

They performed "Too Many Too" at a show I saw in Sept '82 at Nassau Coliseum. Ian must have had a softspot for it.

Man, I wish Steve Wilson would do Broadsword in the current re-issue vein, along with all the extra goodness that goes along. It's some beloved Tull material for me.

    Nice listing, btw!

It's a good 80's synth pop Tull song, I think.

In retrospect, I'm surprised Too Many Too wasn't put on Under Wraps.

That reminds me.... Peggy's Pub and Jam O'Donnell's Jigs from the 1980 Den Haag show are included in the box of Peggs in superb quality.

So I would have to assume the tapes for the complete show exists in similar quality? One for the Stormwatch set...

N.B. There are also a couple of great tracks from the set Ian and Martin played with Fairport at Cropredy in 1987.
