^This. Original run time plus 500 hours. So with a M97xE's stock stylus coming in at 1,500 hours, the Jico SAS should last 2,000. Simply put, the microline is 500 hours better.

That's great news, i mean this "needle" is not cheap, at least for me and i expect to last at least two years.

    Correct.

The styli last at least to 1000 hours—perhaps even 2000 with proper care.

And look at your stylus (10x optics minimum) before and after every cleaning.

I live overseas and we don't have Magic Eraser over here in Panama. You guys always talked great things about it, so i'm going to have to order some on Amazon.

On tables with no vta adjustment you can use a headshell spacer or a thicker platter mat. Most important thing with vta is the top of the cartridge is what should be parallel with the record

IMHO....if Jico is saying stylus life is only 500 hrs I think they are seriously out to lunch. Mine was worth 160 bucks cdn. No way in hell am I going to replace it every year. Diamond vs vinyl......hardest substance wins every time. Even after 2000 hrs I would have a look at it with enough magnification to check for wear.

I'd be shocked if you didn't have a similar product available in Panama. If I remember correctly, it's actually manufactured in Germany.

Look where the cleaning supplies are sold in your local supermarket or hardware store.

The actual product looks like this:

Guess what? I found it in Panama. You just dip the needle in it carefully? How many times? How often?

See, I told you you'd find it!

Just dip it up and down a couple of times after every LP side. You might also want to lightly brush off the stylus right after using the Magic Eraser.

Why are people not using it after every side?

RE: surface noise and the SAS, now that mine is starting to nicely break in, I'm noticing that record noise has subsided into the background or has altogether disappeared - which is a great thing!
