It'a a solid three song set and definitely worth a full release. EH really should release an European broadcasts CD/DVD set.

Steve Hoffman asked us not to post Hendrix photos because EH was after him about posting copyrighted photos without their permission. The gorts had to remove a bunch of them from threads a while back because they threatened to sue or shut down the forums or something like that and Mr. Hoffman asked us to stop posting them or he would have to ask us to stop posting all photos entirely.

 

you are correct but how can EH hold ownership of a broadcast tv still? that is where its from right? once something is broadcast its public domain s far as a still of it is concerned I thought

 

I'm not sure. I just know he asked us to stop posting them. There were entire Hendrix photo threads that were removed.

 

yeah I remember that and I'm sure the posted image needs to be removed. I was just wondering how a still of a broadcasted appearance is not public domain

We could just stop participating in Hendrix threads as a sort protest against the silliness of the situation but I'm not sure I have the willpower.
I like to read what other people have to say about Hendrix and I doubt EH would care anyway.

they cant stop people posting pictures. plus its free advertising. plus they are normally linked from other sites anyway.

 

I agree it's free advertising but what happened before was the threads that contained Hendrix photos were all closed and unavailable while the gorts removed all the offending photos and then they were made available again. EH was supposedly doing the same thing on other sites as well. Mt. Hoffman then asked us to stop posting them because of EH and the gorts were spending all of their time removing photos reported by EH.

 

Posting of the new album cover is allowed however, since that's not Jimi.

The photographer told me yesterday that it was John McDermott who comissioned a designer to do the further retouches (slanting the eyes, straightening the nose,..). He got the impression that McDermott "runs the place".

 

So Janie does not want any free promotion (in the form of images) of her cash cow, whom has a receding fan base, unless it comes from her own little part of the internet?

Yes, it's insane. It's not as if we make any money out of posting pictures of Jimi. Is she afraid that it would damage the exclusivity of future books, calendars, golf balls or diapers that she is planning?

 

In retaliation, I've forbidden Janie Hendrix from posting any photos of myself. That'll show her!!

 

She should look on Pinterest I bet that would make her really pissed, Jimi pics galore.
