When I first heard this I thought something in the middle of the song sounded familiar. I read on Henne Music that this version has a nod to the Batman Theme. I like what I have heard so far from this release, looking forward to it!

Yes. He more than held his own with Jimi. I doubt that Jimi would've ever even had a thought of redoing one of Billy's bass parts (as he did numerous times with Noel's bass parts).

the Fact that Jimi could of had anyone in the world at that time and choose Billy speaks volumes...

Their groove together was/is so damn good

Less a nod to the Batman theme IMO, and more like a figure from Jam 292 thrown in.

I agree with this a lot and I love the BOG stuff. I just think long term BOG would have been limiting.

I don't think I saw this mentioned here, but there are details on the Cutting Room website. $27 plus a $20 food/drink minimum. I think the Guitar World live stream will do for me. I'm not expecting any surprise revelations.

What's this I hear about Amazon US pulling shipping on this single and EH talking RSD?

Well, what is this you're hearing? :agree: I thought it was odd that ExpH's announcement of the single on Facebook went to a RSD url...

Kramer has written books and sell really nice signed Jimi photos. McDermott wrote a couple good EH books.

Depending how you word it, you might be able to get McDermott to give up some mild inside info.

I got my copy of "Setting The Record Straight" signed
by Kramer and McDermott at a event a few years ago.
It's one of about a dozen books I have had signed by
    the authors.

We all know the story of the 'new' album release(they cleaned up and edited old studio sessions)
Since McDermott did the editing for the Atlanta video release...I'd like to ask him about any extra footage found for the new 'Rainbow Bridge' doc. that was supposed to come out last year..

Buddy's playing was often pedestrian, But I think he does a good job on this track. Go figure.

I'm hearing so much and a lot of it is untrue!!

I'm wondering if anyone here got a 45 from Amazon US?

The 45 is readily available at shops in the US so I don't understand the RSD link. Unless they apply new numbers and start again at No 1 ha ha.

The numbering for this set is at least 5000, anyone with a number above that?

My Amazon order has the “we’ll let you know when we have a date” notation, but when I ordered it I could’ve sworn it had Feb 23 as a date

I wonder if Cal Expo is DVD worthy or how much concert film they have from the early 1969 tour in Europe not shot at RAH. Or if another WCSB type box or Dagger release is anywhere on the horizon.

I don't understand the Record Store Day link either. This single should have nothing to do with RSD, though here is the link:
