It's funny the type of people Zeppelin threads bring out. Some people love to bag on them. There is some real entertainment on the bootleg threads, one of the most famous being Frezzers revenge.

That would fit Page's comments about "a totally different perspective" or similar, being continental europe which was underrepresented on the DVD. And Claude Knobs was known to record bands....

Montreux '70 is also not previously unheard unless he means officially unreleased.

Anything previously unheard is of course officially unreleased but not necessarily vice versa. He said previously unheard I believe. But we all know how Page likes to parse words.

Even worse, when the band was on, but the recording sounds like a distant AM radio station.

Yeah, the unspoken addendum to that phrase is "by the general public." He's not speaking to us bootleg-collecting superfans.

Can’t someone — whether it’s an official release or a bootleg — just give me the complete Japan 1971 soundboards already! I can’t subsist on crumbs anymore!!

I know the feeling. At this point I`d be happy with just the rest of those soundboards.Maybe we`ll know after TSRTS is out.

There are members of this forum (who shall remain nameless) who actually participated in that "Freezer's Revenge" debacle.

:laugh::laugh: "I am straightening out crinkled sections of tape with a pen as we speak"...classic!

No, not the tape crinkler- one of the guys who sold Freezer's tapes to the bootleggers. See if you can figure it out from there...

One simply cannot read "Freezer's Revenge" and not feel changed afterward, you definitely look at tape trading within the Zeppelin community differently after that.

Considering the ton of Zep stuff to come out in the 21st century, like HTWWW, the DVD, re-release and remix of TSRTT, remastered and deluxe editions of every single Zeppelin album, I am not sure where your consistent need for cynicism in this thread comes from regarding a 50th anniversary release that is very likely to happen

Robert Plant & his solo band will play in the USA during Sept 7-29.
I still have to check out Carry Fire.
