I plan on listening to it again today, so tomorrow morning I will update my final thoughts on the over all sound quality. The album is packaged nicely. Warming up my system shortly...

    Side A - 6 songs 21.59 Side B - 6 songs 20.42, so really no need for two LPs unless a 45 RPM version...

for those interested, the blue vinyl is cut from the same stampers, exact same info in the dead wax.
sounds 'good' on the blue too, if anything, a bit compressed.......but I'm nitpicking.

Went back and listened to the standard black version again (I am sure the blue version sounds the same I would think) and really happy with the sound, especially since this is a digital transfer.

My three favorite songs from the album - Southern Streamline, Blueboy, and Swamp River Days have never sounded better! Music - 10, Sound - 8.5

Thanks again for the comments, a friend gave me the download card and it has 14 tracks on it. I assumed there were 14 tracks on the LP. So 12 it is!

I never used my download card, it comes with two live tracks that are not on the album. I hardly ever use them, but forgot about the bonus cuts, I will make sure I use this one though...

I just got a copy of Blue Moon Swamp on black vinyl, it has SAFF handwritten in the deadwax, anybody know who or what this is?

"Premonition", "Centerfield", "Eye Of The Zombie" and "Deja Vu All Over Again" will be released again in different formats pretty soon

Just wondering would it be this guy who mastered Blue Moon Swamp?

Has to be. Just picked up the European "Blue Moon Swamp" which was released last Friday and is also on blue vinyl! No wet Fender Stratocaster on the cover. But I hope it also has "SAFF" in the matrix and doesn't use an anonymous in-house mastering.

I often ask myself if a US reissue has been cut from a high res file and the same file is sent to Europe, in theory if the EU reissue has been cut from the same high res file, it should sound the same right? But then I asked myself what if the 'cutting' gear isn't as good as the US gear?

Well.... there have been various examples for poor European in-house masterings of nice US reissues. Most annoying the 2013 RSD reissue of The Cure's "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me". The US edition had Chris Bellman's "CB" initials, the EU didn't.

As for the EU "Blue Moon Swamp", I just listened to it and it is a really good sounding release. No idea if the US would be better but this one sounds so good, that I'm not losing sleep. All in all an extremely nice package, solid, silent, blue vinyl, beautiful new artwork, printed inner and all for 19,99€! That's not bad, is it? :uhhuh:

They are working on releasing all Tom Fogerty's LP's on CD (again), but in the USA this time.

  16. If you look on EBay some vendors are taking preorders for Excalibur.

The self-titled John Fogerty album was released on Ace Records a while back. I've got it on CD, but it's never been reissued since. I wonder if JF has disowned it ??

John's second solo CD, called "The shep" album (because of the dog on the cover) was released on CD in several countries,
UK, Australia, Japan + two times in Germany for sure. No USA issue on CD.

Also, lots of questionable grey area/bootleg CD releases out there for the Shep album.

It is the Time Fades Away of his catalog.
