LOS ANGELES (AP) July 10, 2015 — John Fogerty is suing two of his former Creedence Clearwater Revival bandmates claiming they haven't paid him in years for performing the band's hits with their new group.

Fogerty's lawsuit filed Friday in Los Angeles is against Stuart Cook and Douglas Clifford, two founding Creedence members who now perform — without Fogerty — under the name Creedence Clearwater Revisited.

Fogerty previously sued the men over using the Creedence Clearwater name, but settled with them in 2001 for a share of their touring and merchandise income.

Forgerty's lawsuit claims he hasn't been paid his share since December 2011. His lawsuit does not say how much he is seeking.

Both Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revisted are on tour.

A message sent through the band's website seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Well if John is due money he should get it. They are lucky to be making a living using the name and songs John wrote.

These guys probably spend more money suing each other then they make performing.

    :sigh:

Oy vey! The good music they made trumps all of this petty crap. Too bad those three meatheads don't realize it.

    Well...Clifford and Cook do anyway.

Doesn't Fogerty do most of the suing?

I wish I could sue him for how loud one of his shows was. Ear-splitting painfully loud. Had to leave my seats and see if they sold earplugs at the concessions (they didn't).

Fogerty and John Kaye should form a band and fight to see who is the bigger alpha male.

What a sad way for such a rich musical legacy to end up.

Well, John Kaye is performing under the Steppenwolf (even if his name is included) band-name, so I would say Kaye bests Fogerty here!

Imagine any other job where you can make money sitting at home doing nothing and the more they work the more you get paid. That's not to say he doesn't deserve it since they are essentially making money off of his talents but it sure highlights that it wasn't really a band in the first place. I guess the same scenario works with patents. That's why I loved it when Jerry Seinfeld was interviewed and then asked what he's been up to his response was 'nothin' while he rakes in millions per year from his old TV series still in syndication.

Sad. You would hope by now they could have made some peace with each other.

If they haven't been paying , then they should. If it wasn't for John Cameron Fogerty, who'd have heard of the others?

Yeah, perhaps it seems petty on John's part but sadly it's become part of the business - let the little things go and they get bigger later, and letting it go can come back and bite you in the behind too, and having been burned in the past I can understand why John would not let things slide again.

But yeah, it sure would be nice to see these guys patch it up just for their own piece of mind. It doesn't have to mean a reunion or anything, just try to be friends again

The more songs Cook and Clifford actually play live, the more money for John...so why not have them open on John's never-ending tour to maximize revenue and accounting accuracy

Fogerty continues to be an angry, tormented man when it comes to CCR. The guy has spent most of his life complaining, fighting, and litigating over one thing after another pertaining to his former band, label and material. The man cannot let it go. The money he claims he is owed from Revisited touring revenues has to be somewhat nominal. The endless battle has become pathetic.
