Has this topic ever been covered in an earlier thread?

John Hiatt has many great songs recorded by others.
    For example:

    Across The Borderline-Ry Cooder
    She Don't Love Nobody-Nick Lowe
    Memphis In The Meantime-Greg Allman
Sure As I'm Siiting Here-3 Dog Night
    Through Your Hands-Don Henley

Bonnie Raitt has covered several, of course.

    Please help identify more.

Of course, Riding With The King got the Clapton-BB King treatment

Iggy Pop does a nice version of Something Wild on Brick by Brick

One of my favorites is Bill Frisell's version of "Have a Little Faith in Me" (one of my absolute favorite Hiatt songs).

So did Joe Cocker, as well as Hiatt himself - he re-recorded it for his A&M Best of album. But I prefer the sparse instrumentation of the original version.
On the same album (We ran, 1998) she also did a great rendition of Icy blue heart, one of Hiatt's best songs IMO.

Dutch female singer Ilse deLange issued a live recording full of Hiatt songs - a tribute called Dear John. She's one of the best-selling artists in Holland right now, but she recorded this album at an early stage of her career, showing her adoration for Americana.

It was meant to be a limited pressing. It's OOP right now and in Holland people pay big bucks for a copy.

JH has an incredible body of work, one of my all -time faves!

  18. Dylan's performance of that song is probably the only remotely good thing about the awful movie "Hearts of Fire" (Dylan also performs a nice version of Shel Silverstein's "A Couple More Years", but that performance is very brief and IMO ruined by the awkward setting).

I think Conway Twitty's "Heavy Tears" is one of the first Hiatt songs to be recorded by anybody else.

First time I ever heard of John Hiatt was because of Jeff Healey covering that song about eyes or something....

I saw john a few years ago with his good guitarist and man were they great...2004 I think...
