I've been looking forward to the remixed Rock And Roll album since the '98 four disc Anthology and it's corresponding remixed Rock And Roll outtakes. I was very impressed with the (then) new mixes of the sessions and I am also impressed by this new mix. Every version of this album I've heard has sounded harsh and muddy and because of that murkiness, it's been tough for me to appreciate this album. This new mix opens every track and it gives you a much better idea of what actually went into the recordings. My only beef with this disc is the compression. It isn't massively compressed, but it's there and very noticeable. If they could have back off on the compression, this disc would be amazing. It sounds like some NR was employed but nothing approaching the overkill of the "Imagine" remix . This remix is, IMO, very good! Rock And Roll remix by Peter Cobbin Mastered by Steve Rooke Prepared at Abbey Road The Menlove Ave. bonus tracks, to my ears don't sound remixed but I could be wrong.
