Very nice and very different! Timewise between Star Wars and Empire/Raiders. Actually parts of it are very Raideresque!

Weird digital music meets classic John Williams.

Do you know the year? My guess '84ish?

    THE FURY was 1978.

An interesting note about the DRACULA score is that John Williams had NEVER seen a vampire film of any kind before he scored that one.

This is by far my favorite of all of Williams' Indiana Jones music. It's got damned near everything in it: complex melodies, weird tonalities, abrupt changes in tempo, grand fanfares, unexpected countermelodies, lush orchestrations... I really like this a lot.

So, it's quite like the movie then.

I actually think the Season 3 theme was better than the first couple of years.

When we first went to see TEMPLE OF DOOM, I was thrown by the weird migration of the end-title music and thought it somehow wrong, but it quickly became my favorite too.

I heard Williams conduct this live at the Hollywood Bowl in the 1980s, and it seemed to me he liked it a lot precisely because it was such a weird conglomeration of different twists and turns. That is hard, hard music to play, too -- a lot of atonal stuff here and there.

I didn't like the newest Star Wars movie. The score actually had a fair bit to do with that. So mediocre! You could tell from the very beginning that it couldn't be John Williams.

The score that wasn't by John Williams didn't sound like John Williams. Is that your issue with it? :)

He is movie soundtrack greatness. I love so much of his stuff but i think this one stands out for me. Return of the Jedi, Victory Celebration and end credits.

That original ET album suite is burned into my brain. I would also point everyone to the last fifteen minutes or so of the score for The Empire Strikes Back. That whole score is an incredible achievement, but the sweep from "Clash of the Lightsabers" to "Rescue From Cloud City" to "The Rebel Fleet/End Title" is exciting stuff. It's fun driving around town to that!

Looking at his work from 1975-1984 is mindblowing, not just because of the 7 or 8 iconic masterpieces, but because he also composed another dozen scores during that time. That's quite a purple patch.

My favorite film composer, by far. I think this is the best work he has done. Absolute perfection on multiple levels. It's incredibly emotional.

I got into movie soundtracks after watching E.T. and I was only 8 at the time. He's my favourite composer and one of the most, if not the most, influential of our time.

That's a terrific score, and the track you picked is the best thing on the album. That one makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up (which is a good thing).

All of the STAR WARS soundtracks are just stellar with so many great themes. One movie that gets a lot of flack around the Internet is ATTACK OF THE CLONES, EPISODE II. But it holds my biggest musical soundtrack goosebump moment at the conclusion. Anakin and Padme are exchanging vows as the love theme from the movie swells leading to the crescendo of the end credits. Powerful stuff. Start at 3:40 in this video:

John Williams and John Barry are 2 of the greatest.

    Love em both.
