I wish I could come up with the cash for these, but unfortunately, I can't.

and BTW Steve, can true original masters actually be on 1/4" tapes?

I suspect these are copy masters and not the true 2-track master tapes.

Was Johnny on Epic during this period? If so, it's odd they don't control these masters.

If I were sure they were the 2-track masters, I'd get several people involved and get them to Steve asap.

I found out from a reliable source that they are the original tapes and not copies.

Not to question your source Bradley, but I thought all LP masters had two boxes per LP. One for side 1 and one for side 2.

That's why I thought these were copies.

    They are on 1/4" tapes.

And the proof that they are the masters is indicated right on the box. Supersize the photos and they say "masters" right there.

Bradley, these look like cassette tape duplication masters or safeties. Don't forget, just because it says "Master" on the box doesn't mean that's what it is. Anyone can put a check-mark there.

In this case, this would be the duplicating houses' master tape. In fact, because cassette dupe facilities are downsizing, I would count on a lot of "master" tapes to hit eBay. These were possibly yanked out of the dumpster.

This is Steve's area, but I'm very confident these are tape duplication filed masters.

IIRC didn't Steve say that on the true masters you will see the recording/mastering engineers notes for how exactly it was recorded? I'm not seeing that here like on the CCR masters that Steve displayed for us at one time.

Forget what's ON the boxes...Are the tapes themselves leadered between the songs? All the truly original masters I've ever dealt with have been leadered (paper leadered) between each of the songs. No leaders usually means a submaster. Nothing wrong with a submaster. But a bunch of submasters would hardly be worth $100,000...unless the masters are surely lost.
