I'm surprised it's not cheaper than that. He's of a similar popularity level to Gary Glitter nowadays.

    At least Gary likes girls.:shh:

Actually, I ordered one this morning. I've never actually heard JK. I just know that he discovered 2 of my favorite bands (Genesis & 10cc). The song titles looked quirky and interesting. I will say that his Wikipedia profile and legal problems are a bit on the disgusting side. However, I'm still a Woody Allen fan.

Hey, hey, hey - take it easy.

I have this set and it's excellent.

He's out of jail - it's done. The thread starter is talking about the CD set - not his private life.

I absolutely love his version of "Get Off My Cloud".

"Melancholy Man" (track 3, Disc 1) is one of my favorite songs ever - it's so great.

Wish there were ways to play samples on the web - maybe there is. Dunno.

Still, 8 discs? I know "Everyone's Gone to The Moon" was a UK hit circa 1964, but I can't say I've heard anything else he's done.

Of course, but doesnt mean we cant mention it.

I seem to remember that 'One For You, One For Me' where he was on TOTP in a multicoloured wig. Bizarre fellow.

I guess It's Good News Week by Hedgehoppers Anonymous never got any airplay in the fabled World of Genesis! (Too busy listening to Sussudio and other classics, I guess)

Well, there is a certain, um, Russian website where you can listen to 90 seconds of each track. And yes, they even have this.

Wouldn't want to sit through 8 CDs of this personally, but do have half an inkling to download 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On'. :)

  14. Are these all the original recordings, then? "Round, Round" is such a great song, and his quirky "ooga chaka" "Hooked on a Feeling" is fun, so I would be interested in this for a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, no - that's the one thing. But the music is eclectic, melodic, and great!

WOW - I can't believe he got away with it for so long given how many clues he left over the years:

    10) Let It All Hang Out
    11) I’ve Never Seen A Woman
    17) C’Mon Kid
    5) Be Gay
    10) I Don’t Wanna Be Gay
    11) He’s So Fine
    10) It’s Illegal, It’s Immoral, It’s Unhealthy But It’s Fun
    12) Mental Diseases

    Sorry - I couldn't resist :hide:

It's a great set and they're all original recordings. Well worth it if you can get past JK's sorted history. The Angelettes recordings are fantastic.

I had no idea he ever put out that much product, although I did know he recorded under a number of different guises in the 1970s. I absolutely love "Everyone's Gone To The Moon", I like "Good News Week" a lot and I love his production of From Genesis To Revelation. Whether I buy this is up in the air.

That's a fraction of his output as a writer, producer and performer. Very prolific guy.

Yeah thats a stupid and disgusting comment. So its more okay for gary glitter to have sex with 10 year old thai girls and have thousands of pictures on his PC of young girls being sexually abused than Jonathan King sexually abusing young teenage boys because he's gay. Idiot.
