I enjoyed the new Terminator just fine. It was rehashy, sure, but that's going to happen with time travel stories.

The new ID was a bit worse but even still, it's more "forgettable popcorn cinema" than "scourge of the film industry".

I thought raptors did exist, except that they were actually much smaller than depicted in the films? That's what I've always heard.

Yes, but not reptiles*. Ever see a house trained crocodile?:)

    * Velociraptors are scientifically classified as belonging to the Class Reptile, even though they were covered in feathers - another thing the movie got badly wrong. Which is ironic, because in one of the earlier films, the Velociraptors were shown sprouting a few feathers, as an acknowledgement to the then latest scientific findings, but the latest film threw all that out the window and made them boring, gray skin jobs!

Scientists say they were about the size of a small dog:

It's fair to say that scientists disagree as to how big and how aggressive Velociraptors really were. Several have refuted the bigger, clawed, aggressive version in Jurassic Park.

Right. So since its up in the air, might as well make them larger reptilian creatures that can be tamed for entertainment purposes. These are, after all, popcorn flicks.

I get a kick out of the fact that people are actually criticizing scientific accuracy in a Jurassic Park movie.

Exactly. The fact that a fossilized mosquito wouldn't have the necessary genetic material to make dinosaurs should be a bigger issue.

They are fun movies that let those willing escape from the real world.

Well, if you're going to base the movie on real history with fossil record evidence (as opposed to random monster movies like say Godzilla) and you have previously made some nods to scientific accuracy, then I don't think it's unreasonable to criticize when all that ground work has been jettisoned to make a really stupid movie (due to many reasons other than scientific accuracy - like plot, characterization, etc).

The most ridiculous part of JW is that Chris Pratt’s character would put a scope on a Marlin 1895GS! Not only is it a lever-gun faux-pas, it’s totally unnecessary because nobody in any Jurassic film has ever taken a shot of more than five yards.

Now the .45-70 Government Round is a good choice. It’s taken all of Africa’s big five and if you’re going to shoot at a dinosaur it’d be in my top three calibers.

But if you’re hunting dinosaurs you’ve probably got money to burn. And a Cretaceous safari demands only the finest gold-embossed dinosaur engraved double rifle (.500 or .600 Nitro Express I’d assume)!

Yes somebody really paid for a dinosaur engraved gun. Because it’s awesome.

What? You want a plot?? Okay, here it is (spoiler) - stupid humans get eaten yet again by rampaging dinos.

This looks reeeeeally bad. Like Jurassic Park 3 levels of bad.

At the very least, the trailer is edited terribly.
