Hi everyone, I just pulled the trigger on buying a Marantz NR 1200 slimline reciever today (birthday present to myself). I'm not seeing too much on this, but the little I've heard, it sounds fun. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Thinking about it. All the Amazon reviews are 5 stars. Don't see that every day. Pricing is very attractive.

I don't know how it sounds, but Marantz is always a guarantee of an excellent quality / price ratio.
As always, they are also beautiful to look at.
The fact that you can connect two pairs of speakers is always useful.
in short ... Best wishes for your purchase, you will see that you enjoy it.
Let us know, then, how you feel with it... ... Did you get the (beautiful) silver version or the (more dull) black one?

by the way: Happy Birthday! :edthumbs:

It's very cool looking, has all the latest modern features for a 2 channel AV system. Looks like it can stream true Amazon HD too

It and the new PM7000N both look nice. Thinking about ordering both in to have as demo units.

I’ve had mine since October and I love it. Great sound, great streaming functions, phono preamp is nice.

Just curious -- is this have a D-class amp? I guess I assumed it does because of its "home theater roots." I can't seem to verify this, however -- does anyone know?

Discovered that the question had already been answered on Amazon.com -->

Question: Though not spelled out in the description the small size hints to a class D amplifier. Is that right?
Answer: Hello, No, all of our receivers use Class A/B amps. -- Thanks, Marantz North America

    :)

I like the preout for subwoofer. The crossover from mains to sub as I understand it can be set from 40 to 200 Hz.

Sorry, I had a relapse with my pneumonia. I hooked this up to a pair of Elac Debut 6's and an Oppo 103, it sounded a little "grainy" at first. I let it play on low for 24 hours and it is sounding better! The HEOS app is very easy to use and Spotify sounds very good through it, my girlfriend thought I was playing a CD through the Oppo, she was impressed with the sound through the Marantz. Going to hook up my TT this weekend. I am also going to be looking into upgrading my speakers....
