What was the context of butterfly bead? I don’t remember it.

a teaser that could go any direction the writers choose, right now they are leading us to suspect Carolyn, and it's working on me so far. :)

I'm just getting started on this. Two episodes in and I'm hooked.

The season finale was played way too broad and forced to me. Felt really self conscious. Disappointed.

    But, as usual, unexpected.

  9. Loved the twist or change out at the very end right after what we thought would be the end. Worked for me.

    Yes certainly that.
Feels like now it’s its raison detre though. In a contrived way. Couldn’t suspend my disbelief for much of the episode because it didn’t feel organic.
Gonna watch it again soon to see if I feel differently.

Well, I guess I still had my disbelief suspended. If I think hard about it that fails, but it's entertainment and I enjoy the pitch black humor in this show. It reminds me in some ways of "Good Behavior."

Best line from season 1 finale:
“God, it's amazing how efficient things are when you're a dick to people!”

Surprise from this week's ep that I did not see coming (no spoiler):
Eve emerged, for me, as the far more interesting character. She was the season's slow-burn, in stark contrast to Villanelle's "high-impact from the get-go & never let up" self. Eve's psychological layers deserve peeling back in the next season, for sure.

I do have more thoughts. But I will refrain from postings that require spoilers for now.

Villanelle's one of the best female villains since Mona Demarkov.

So I finally got around to Killing Eve, I binged the entire season over the last 2 days. I felt it started off a little too cute but settled down into a solid groove by the 4th ep., cruised along nicely but stumbled in the finale. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer were the secret sauce in this otherwise average tale. Comer was especially fun to watch and joins my favorite 'crazy bad-ass ladies' club! A Russian female killing machine that can put a smile on yr face? Shades of Tatiana Maslany's Helena! Another favorite will always be Ruth Wilson's brilliant portrayal of Alice Morgan in Luther! The BBC sure knows their bad girls!;) Glad to see Eve's coming back, hopefully the writing will rise to the level of the acting.

The most chilling scene of the entire series? Without a doubt, the nightclub. Comer's smile, at 1st friendly, and than....a terrific bit of acting when the hunted becomes the hunter! I'll be on the lookout for this kids work in the future for sure!

I agree it was chilling but the guy was stupid to follow her that far into the club. To me the scene lacked credibility.

Agreed. One of the few developments I could see coming a mile away. Was bummed to lose him as a character.

Watched the finale again and thoroughly enjoyed it this time. I guess it comes down to knowing what to expect and being in a better mood for it. Dug it.

Just started. Don't like Sandra Oh and concur with chacha regarding the violence.

Why did Eve not catch on earlier that the killer was the 'nurse'...

    But will continue watching.

At last something to work with - "Do you know who you work for?"

"Maybe we work for the same people." :)

Upto Episode 6. In the Russian prison - couldn't follow at all the encounter between Villanelle and the other prisoner at all, though she does eventually get to kill the intended target.

To me the whole thing is almost as silly as Alias. The head of MI 5 goes to Moscow under cover ? :)

I prefer Villanelle to La Femme Nikita though.

I've been recommending this to anyone prepared to listen, in the UK it's been under the radar due The Bodyguard being the 'water cooler' TV show.

All my friends think it's better than The Bodyguard and a number of reviewers have started to say the same.

For me Sandra Oh is the weak link and my favorite character is Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens but that may be because I've worked with that women.
