King Crimson - 2017 New Releases

In DGM SoundWorld I today: with Chris Porter and David Singleton. Mixing a King Crimson single: Heroes - Live In Berlin from the Admiralspalast 11/12 September 2016.


Looks like the new first KC single to come out in 2017 will be Heroes - Live In Berlin.
With the Get In Your Car cover single confirmed to come out late 2017/early 2018, I think it's safe to assume that we're getting at least 2 new singles from KC this year.

 

Not sure if this belongs here at all. But I am seeing King Crimson live in 2017 in "my little town". And Bryan Ferry. Oh baby.

King Crimson are to release an EP featuring their version of Heroes recorded in Berlin during the band’s 2016 European tour. The tracklist for the gatefold CD EP is
1 Heroes
2 Easy Money
3 Starless (edit)
4 The Hell Hounds of Krim
5 Heroes (radio edit)

Heroes - Live In Europe, 2016 is set for release on June 2nd 2017 and can be pre-ordered at Inner Knot (US) & Burning Shed (UK & EU)

Man i hope Fracture will be included. The Copenhagen rendition was the highlight of the evening.

 

I was able to find a 2016 live version of Cirkus on the dgmlive web page for download, but not Fracture. I would be very keen to have a listen!

 

Hopefully some of these soundboards will go on sale as full shows in the future.

Giving us all those freebies is such a nice gesture from Fripp/dgm/KC so we ought not complain about what we aren't getting but be grateful we got such a treasuretrove for free

Got mine at the 12th & Porter Nashville warm-up weekend back around 1990.
Remember it was Fri-Sun w/ five concerts. Sister Patricia gave it to me.

EP CD ordered... but I am really waiting for the new 12" single or EP being repressed after
some problems initially.

There was not a download of "Fracture" made available from the first leg of Europe 2016.

They are getting better and better. Haven't seen them live up to now. I was a little pissed because of the last studio album and the first live album Orpheum where I found the sound was quite muffled. But now I hope I can get them next year latest in Europe. They are for sure one of the most perfect KC line ups but probably not so much into improvisations, a bit static.

 

Go see them. This line up is fantastic.

 

Something to buy at the merch table in 2017: The Elements Of King Crimson 2017

 

Blimey! I heard heroes on radio6 earlier and it threw me right out. Something didn't sound quite right although it still sounded amazing but bowie's vocal wasn't quite as gut wrenching as usual. So I sat in my van to hear what version it was from the dj and....it wasn't bowie singing, lol! But it really wasn't far off and that guitar is absolutely unmistakable. It was really rather good, sounds like it was a superb performance.

 

...and hope they do it in North America for the spring/summer tour!

 

So who is singing on it then?

Belew I could hear being able to sing this one. Jakko I couldn't imagine singing it, however.

 

Jakko does just fine on "Heroes."

 

I'm probably selling him way short--I'll have to check it out.
