No specific dates have been announced, but it looks like King Crimson will return to the US this year.

King Crimson touring USA 2017 »

    From Fripp's diary:

King Crimson’s 2017 touring will be mostly in the US, beginning in Seattle and down the West Coast during early June to July; continuing to the East Coast in the Autumn.

Cool. Wonder what the current lineup is?

Also, love getting to look Fripps house. It looks exactly the way one would expect of a proper English gentleman:

Please post when you see specific dates (nothing at the links yet, maybe not booked)-I'm VERY curious.

I'm a big fan of the first albums, was very interested by the next stuff, ADORE Red (one of my favorite albums of all time), then fell off and didn't pay too much attention. I guess this is a spur to listen to later stuff.

What is a likely setlist? Not song by song, rather, do they tend to draw from all eras or only later stuff or ??? I don't expect to hear In The Court Of The Crimson King in its entirety, but would be quite unhappy if I went and they played nothing before Discipline.

Here's an example of a setlist from Dec 12th, 2016:

    Hell Hounds of Krim
    Pictures of a City
    Lizard
    ("Dawn Song")
    Suitable Grounds for the Blues
    Red
    The ConstruKction of Light
The Court of the Crimson King
    The Letters
    Interlude
Radical Action (To Unseat the Hold of Monkey Mind)
    Meltdown
    Radical Action II
    Level Five

    Set 2

    Peace: An End
    Cirkus
    Indiscipline
    Epitaph
    Easy Money
    Devil Dogs of Tessellation Row
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part One
    ("La Marseillaise" snippet)
    The Talking Drum
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part Two
    Starless
    Encore:
    "Heroes"
    (David Bowie cover)
    21st Century Schizoid Man

I saw them in 2014 and it was a great concert. It was a good mix of new and old.

If they need a support act, the excellent Petra Haden (ex-Decemberists, one of Charlie Haden's triplet daughters) would be a good choice, judging by her all-vocal cover of Red:

The latest from DGMLive web site:

"King Crimson have confirmed they will be appearing at the Rochester Jazz Festival on Friday June 30th. Tickets for this show go on sale on Friday 20th January. This is the first date to be announced in a schedule that will see the Double Quartet on active service from June 13th to July 15th. Further dates for the full tour will be announced in the coming weeks."

Hopefully, they'll come up with additional methods of announcing the future dates. They apparently, only announced the Rochester show through the website and Facebook. Then tickets went on sale almost immediately after. How about those email alerts? What was the reason for registering? Luckily, a friend messaged, but this was 2 days after the sale started.

Seriously. Is this supposed to be a secret tour or something? I finally signed up at DGMLive with no real idea of what they're planning to send me. Alerts, I hope, but based on their FB posts, who knows.

I know RF has announced a tour starting on the West Coast and coming to the East Coast in the Autumn, but I don't see anything indicating any dates other than Rochester (which is on the East Coast and in the Summer, so go figure). Am I missing something? Does anyone know any other dates/locales?

Silly question. Will I appreciate a King Crimson show even if I'm not intimately aware of their entire catalog?

Absolutely! It's special. I saw them in 2015 and it was just magnificent.

The link says NYC plus more in the fall, so hopefully that means additional East Coast dates.

If you enjoy anything from 1969-1974, you'll be in good hands.

That's my hope as well. I'll go to NYC if I have to, but I'd rather they play in Boston for multiple shows.
