From the King's X Facebook page:

    "BREAKING NEWS!!!
King's X planning CD and vinyl re-issues for 2015; band seeks old photos, flyers, etc.

    The titles are:
"Faith Hope Love" CD & LP
    "Gretchen Goes To Nebraska" LP
"Out Of The Silent Planet" LP
    "King's X" CD & LP
    "Ear Candy" Cd & LP
    "Dogman" LP

E-MAIL PHOTOS AND IMAGES FOR CONSIDERATION TO [email protected].

King's X will be releasing a series of re-issues in 2015 on CD and on vinyl. The band and Metal Blade Records are putting together packaging and track listings at this very moment, and the band would like to ask fans for a favor! King's X are looking for photos, show flyers, ticket stubs, etc. from the 1988-1996 era of the band. If you were there and have any photos from that time, they have a chance to be featured in the layout for one of the upcoming re-issues!

Disclaimer: It is acknowledged and understood that any and all material sent to the band will become the property of King's X and as such can be used for any and all purposes. By Sending in photos, you are giving King's X full and total control to use any material sent in, for all uses, including and not limited to promotion and public dissemination of said material."

So 3 of them aren't getting a cd reissue?

I guess not? I just copied that straight from their FB page. Seems odd to not do a CD reissue for just 3 of them? You would think it would be all or none?

This is cool news. I have all the cd's already but I wouldn't mind getting some of the vinyl re-issues.

The cds will be brickwall compressed, so no loss.

    Probably.
The originals sound good IMO. Dogman and Ear Candy definitely don't really need to be remastered.

I wonder if the vinyl will be cut from the original tapes. I have Gretchen and Out of the Silent Planet on vinyl already.

Yes! I'll take the vinyl. Rush and Kings X re-issues in the same year is great news.

Already have the original CD's, which sound great.

Typical!!! Just after I dropped nearly €100 buying mint originals of the first four lp`s :rant:but I imagine they will be murdered at the mastering stage so I might have made the right choice. Only time will tell but I do hope they are done properly.

Thanks for posting this. I'm not on Facebook so would not have heard about it. I have a bunch of old flyers/tickets/setlists, or used to, if I can find 'em I will scan 'em & send 'em in.

My guess is they could not get the rights to Press up cd's , this happened with the King diamond back catalog as well .... I also though Maybe the Rock candy label was doing a few Kings X re-issue cd's soon ?

Sign me up for some Vinyl :D

You can get Dogman for $0.01 on Amazon and the others for not much more. So not sure it's all that necessary.

It was more about bonus material. I have most of the bands catalog already

I suppose putting bonus material on some kind of rarities compilation would be way too convenient for fans who already have this stuff?

It's been a long time since I've heard them, but I imagine the early albums could sound a lot better, but anything after the self-titled one probably sounds fine as is.

Saw FHL (on CD) today and almost bought it, but I resisted given the track record of your typical remaster - and how the more recent King's X and side-project albums sound (Has anyone heard KXM? Truly atrocious sounding, especially sad given how great the music.) It certainly didn't look like "deluxe" packaging - digipak with only the one flap, and there definitely could not have been a significant booklet inside, so I don't know what happened to the call for photos and memorabilia. If someone says it sounds great, especially if it's an improvement on the original (somehow) then I'll happily jump on it.
