No, but the equipment profile is requested so forum participants may evaluate a person's equipment privately and make judgments regarding sonic claims made here. That may include unspoken, mental dissing.
It was the manner in which it was said, nothing more. This occasionally happens with non-verbal communication. Probably wasn't meant to offend.
I just found a stereo US first pressing of Arthur from 1969 on Reprise W7 in VG+ condition at 20 dollars. I have the mono press from the box set. Should i buy it?
I wonder what the hold up is over Lola? I wonder who owns the rights. Even if Friday music does a reissue, I'd buy it. Original copies aren't cheap, especially in mint or VG+ condition.
I've had a bunch of them, most I've gotten rid of. At best, for me, it's equal to originals, as far as Joe's work anyway. Most that Joe Reagoso has worked on are bright sounding. Kevin Gray does good work. Ron McMaster has also done stuff for Friday, IIRC, which is somewhere between the other two. On top of that, Joe uses Rainbo Records to press vinyl (Kevin doesn't), who have a spotty track record. This is just one guy speaking, with an average set up. Look around, you'll see others expressing similar views.
I think a third of the songs on Arthur are better in stereo, a third are better in mono, and a third are a draw.
Yes, for the stereo "Shangri-La" alone in my opinion. Here's wishing you the best of VG+ on that Reprise!
I'd suspect USA pressing since VMP is located in the US. Sweet deal regardless. Is one pressing considered better than the other?
