Indeed. I laugh when people talk about Michael and films like Basic Instinct being edgy etc. Michael is great and I'm a fan, but he's only a fraction of the actor and he-man that his Dad is. And I bet Michael would be the first to say that.

Kirk and Olivia will outlive us all. The fact both are still in respectable health is a blessing.

It's easy to feel "sorry" for his current state, but when he just keeps on truckin', my admiration overcomes any sympathy that I'm sure he doesn't want or need.

Such a great actor. And I loved his Oscar presentation back in 2011--hope I keep that sense of humor if I make it to my 90s.

  15. What is his current state? Is he sick? Or are we referring to California?

California is sick. Kirk is healthier than the state.

He had a stroke a number of years ago that damaged his speech but with a lot of therapy and hard work he got to where he could speak in public again and even made a movie. Other than using a walker/wheelchair, his health as far as I know is otherwise ok. His mind is still good and I'm sure having Anne at his side keeps them both young.

I wonder though....when he'd drive the LA/San Francisco road...did he take the PCH or Hwy 101 ? Hmmmm....

I was referring to the lingering effects of his 1996 severe stroke.

As I implied, my "sympathy" is misplaced. He obviously accepted it as simply one more of life's challenges, and responded in his typical fashion, by overcoming it.
