Well, arrogant or not, Kiss would be missing about 85% of what makes it what it is! It would be like assembling the ultimate Beach Boys lineup, but you don't want Brian Wilson and Mike Love in the band. :p

Or, more closely tied to an example that encompasses their heroes - it would be like wanting "a Beatles" without Lennon and McCartney.

But I still respect the opinion.

How about a "drummer triple threat":

    Peter Criss - vocals, percussion
Ace Frehley - vocals, lead guitar
Eric Carr - bass guitar, vocals
Bruce Kulick - lead guitar, vocals
    Eric Singer - drums, percussion

My dream line up is of course Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter...but a 20 years ago Peter...for now I would be happy with Gene, Paul, Ace and Singer.

I couldn't agree more. Eric Carr and Ace Frehley were a rock n' roll dream team. It doesn't get much better than this..

But slightly more seriously, I'd pay to see a seven piece Kiss playing:

Paul Stanley - vocals, rhythm guitar
Gene Simmons - vocals, bass guitar
Ace Frehley - vocals, lead guitar
Bruce Kulick - lead guitar, vocals
    Gary Corbett - keyboards, synths
    Peter Criss - vocals, percussion
    Eric Singer - drums, percussion

the original KISS line-up is the best

Shame they didn't get to do much in the studio. Sure there was the Elder but Ace was pretty much checked-out during the recording and also a shame they kind of wasted Eric on his first album.

But to answer the question Paul, Gene, Eric Carr and Bruce is the answer for me.

Most definitely! He was a very fine lead player back in the day.

I don't like any of the songs listed (Rocket Ride is the only one I don't skip and even that's pretty average) and I only enjoy two songs on his solo record. Different ears and all that! Though as Bartels 76 rightly points out, his solos are usually fab.

I do quite like Strange Ways, Dark Light and Into The Void which aren't often highly rated by other fans. I must be one of those rugged individualists! :)

Peter, Paul and Mary I mean Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter, with Eric Carr as the backup for when Peter's elbows start to hurt after the first two songs.
