I watched a double feature last night. Firstly. I finished up, for now, watching my Superman boxset. I watched Superman Returns for maybe the last time. I really like Kevin Spacey in this one. He's the high point of the film. The half hour long ending is just horrid. The colour palate of the film is nauseating.

My second feature was Public Enemies which I really like. I've seen few movies that transport me into the past like it does.

I thought my player was defective! a soft pastel overblown quality...I believe we discussed this before?.:)

I could not get around Johnny playing Dillinger!

Dillinger with Warren Oates is the best on film, although that was just an OK movie...Michelle Phillips looked good and the rest of the casting was perfect! Richard Dreyfus playing Baby Face Nelson! just perfect!:righton:

 I was able to pick this soundtrack up for 3 bucks at the Goodwill a few weeks ago but haven't been able to listen to it much. Have to remedy that this weekend.

I've been on a Mariel Hemingway kick. Last night's Hemingway film was The Sex Monster. It was purr-dy funny. Mike Binder obviously got a lot of inspiration from Woody Allen for this film, which he acted in, wrote, and directed.

Well, it ain't a movie, but we finally finished Season 1 of Mad Men on BRD last night.

Visually amazing but took awhile to get into it. Partly I think because so may of the characters, though well played, are jerks.
Getting a bit more interesting as their lives are starting to be revealed as the story develops.

Had problems playing disc 3, mainly episodes 10 & 11. Color abruptly changing and the picture freezing while the dialog continued,
    Anyone else experience this?

I watched Gregory Peck in Twelve O'Clock High on DVD. It's a great film about the hazards of precision, daylight bombing and how hard that was on the airmen in WW2. I really identify with the film. One of my uncles was lucky enough to live through being a B-17 gunner.

Had heard from others it wasn't that good.

I disagree, we really liked it.

    Looking forward to Dawn Treader.

Decent movie, Liam Neeson is solid , as he usually is.

Got to say though, January Jones comes across just as bland and lifeless as her character in Mad Men.

Cast Away in High Definition Blu Ray. PQ & AQ really quite an upgrade. Just don't toss your 2 disc SE DVD...there are no extras on the Blu Ray.
