    Hello, zebop or anyone else....
Do you know accurate recording dates/years for the Nonstop! LP? As in something more specific than 1980 or 1981?
Thanks for your time and help.

You shouldn't get killed for that. Not if the Beatles are your favorite artist and that's your least favorite Beatles album. I'm actually considering this one. There are tracks on there I just don't like, such as Mr. Moonlight and Honey Don't, and I could do without Rock and Roll Music and Kansas City/Hey Hey Hey (although I like the latter song in those early live versions). I think the rest of the album is great, though.

I think "I'm A Loser" definitely was a new direction and points the way to "Help!" LP if not "Rubber Soul"- it might be the first "mature" song they ever did. "I'll Follow the Sun" is good reimagining of the kind of schmaltz McCartney was drawn to ('Til There Was You")

Too many covers at that point in their career--

Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music. I admire the concept but have no wish to listen to the execution. I really enjoy ALL other Lou albums.

Patti Smith - Twelve.....if not cover albums, Dream Of Life or Gung Ho
The Beatles - Help! - if US, dislike the soundtrack music, if UK, side 2 is one of my least favorite Beatles album sides........aside from "Yesterday" and "I've Just Seen A Face" they sound like a tired group that needed to recharge their batteries.
    X - Ain't Love Grand
    Elvis Costello - Spike
Frank Zappa - Jazz From Hell.....if rock albums, Tinseltown Rebellion.
    Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station
    Bob Dylan - Empire Burlesque
The Kinks - Low Budget or Word Of Mouth (not a fan of their arena rock albums after Misfits in general)

I love Being There. I think AM is Wilco's weakest album by a wide margin.

I'd go for A Ghost Is Born. I've heard high school band cassette demos that were better recorded than that album.

    Let It Be
    McCartney I

For many of my top faves, they have so many albums that, ironically, picking just one isn't possible. Horrible to say but I tend to endlessly support performers who music I've loved once even when it goes south. And though McCartney falls in this camp of a large library, I can still remember my bitter disappointment in his first solo album despite including Maybe I'm Amazed, my favorite song by him. I think it's because he was a Beatle and I loved this song so much from airplay that my expections were crazy high for this album. I still haven't warmed up to it even after all these years. And Let It Be is such a downer of an ending for the Beatles catalog.
