...to be honest, it's hard to pick from any other bands/artists..but the ones from these three have always stood pretty definitive.

The beach boys : summer means new love. The orchestration to my mind was lacking. It sounded like something that you would find on those awful Hollyridge Strings albums. Of course Brian Wilson saved the day by using the melody and adding lyrics on his latest album

I was waiting for that . . . :) I happen to love Tull's "17" and "What Goes On." The world is still round, clearly!

As far as songs that were popular by them, I'd go with:

    Slow Ride for Foghat

    Lola for the Kinks

Takin Care Of Business for BTO

And the remade version of Candle In The Wind that Elton John did when Princess Diana died. I understand and appreciate the feelings and the sentiment, just don't like the song.

Stole a little of my thunder with the favorite band so I'll come up with another one instead. Can't pick anything off the classic 7, that would be.....well.....blasphemous. So I'll go with Top Rank Suite off Octave. But as an exercise I'll pick one off the classic 7......and the winner is.........Don't You Feel Small from AQOB. If I was forced that is.

The only song from the entire Moody Blues' "core 7" LPs that I don't like much is To Share Our Love from On the Threshold of a Dream. I don't care much for Top Rank Suite off Octave either. And I don't really like anything off subsequent LPs.

Similarly for the Bee Gees, the only song off their 1967-69 period (the only period I really like) that I don't like is My Thing off Cucumber Castle. Ugh.

Genesis, 1970s: don't like Dance on a Volcano or Los Endos off Trick of the Tail.
