I just got my latest Sound & Vision magazine. On pages 15-16, producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (who helped J.P. mix How the West Was Won DVD-Audio & the Led Zep DVD) is quoted as saying "I think the catalog will be out on DVD-Audio in 96k, as Jimmy is impressed with that, specifically on Neil Young's set" of DVD-Audios. The article then goes on to say that this means stereo only as Shirley says "I do not envision the catalog being remixed for surround...but who knows." Let's keep our fingers crossed for anything hi-res. I still have my old Led Zep CD's which sound like crap with a lot of distortion and tinniness. A Led Zep catalog on DVD-Audio (a format left for dead by most) would be a boon for the hi-res industry, and would clearly outshine the Dylan and Stones' catalogs that were released on SACD years back but did nothing for the format's success (or lack thereof). If there ever was a band made for 5.1 though, Led Zep are in the top 3.
