    ^^^^^

    Thanks VonWegen ! !

    And, so, I must say . . . .

Having seen the mighty Zeppelin in the 70's, NOTHING that JP, JPJ, & RP could do now, would ever approach the grandeur and majesty and the power, and the magic of when the original 4 members performed together. The synergy, the karma, the symbiotic interaction, the alchemy: that sum together was greater than the members individually. Because John Henry Bonham was and is the "Heart & Soul" of Led Zeppelin..... there can NEVER be a LED ZEPPELIN Reunion. There could be some kind of reunion---- but it will NEVER be "LED ZEPPELIN".... which ceased to exist as a touring and recording unit when John Henry Bonham died.

Indeed. There are lots of moments that illustrate this on the 2003 DVD release but one in particular is the performance of How Many More Times from he first DVD. Watch that band in action then take the drummer away. It's like a house of cards. That's unfortunate, but it's reality.

I think Plant still sounds fine in the studio for the most part. FON and MR are 2 of his strongest solo albums IMO. I have no interest in hearing him live since NQ though. On a few of the tracks he sounds ok, but some of the songs are just too cringeworthy for me. I can't even listen to that version of "Since I've Been Loving You". A "Zep" reunion at this point would just be a disaster IMO. Plant has no interest either. I find it much more interesting that he is doing an album with Allison Krauss.

Actually, I find his studio work since FON has been almost complete cringeworthy for me. Up until then his vocals were strong, in key and better than some of his later Zeppelin work. About half way through Fate of Nations, he seemed to run out of steam. Since then, his studio work sounds sloppy to me. It could be the smoking habit. I recall his mentioning in interviews around the time of Now and Zen that he had quit, but I think he started up again before Page/Plant. By Walking Into Clarksdale, his voice was really bad. I bought the vinyl version of this last fall and listening to it, I'd forgotten just how bad he was. Songs like When I was a Child, and Heart In Your Hand could have been incredible, but instead, they just sound incredibly depressing.

What he said. I honestly don't think we have to worry about it tho.

Thanks for your posting, vonwegen. I had a few really good chuckles while reading it.
