Sounds great for me, hopefully the albums will be treated with care and that we get worthy boxsets.

I wonder if this will be released before or after his new solo album?

Finishing packaging on these should not take more than 5-6 weeks max. I run a record label, we do special box set packaging all the time. They've stated the sonic side of the project is finished. There's no reason these couldn't be out in December. I've held off purchasing the "Mastered for iTunes" releases in hope the box sets will feature lossless copies of those same remasterings. Very very much looking forward to these boxes.

    Very cool interview.

I started a thread earlier today with the news story/text of that bit. That thread got merged with "Plant finds tapes." My title was Led Zeppelin Box Sets 2014, or something like that. You've got a great title too....and it's a great post, with the recording.

Suggestion for a Gort......please merge all of these under my title (that was merged into "Plant") or this thread title. "Plant found tapes" just isn't the right one. This is a relevant, hot topic right now, and it would make better sense to have "Led Zeppelin + Remaster + 2014 + box set. Thanks.

It always funny how back catalog remasters coincide with tours and new albums for many artists.

Sorry to overlap! I figured the interview would be cool to share.

No worries. I love your thread. I want us to keep it, and merge the "Plant discovered tapes" posts to it. This is and will continue to be a hot topic, and your title is most appropriate. This is new news that, when you went to search for the thread to post in, I'm sure you couldn't find it. This happened to me when I shared the "text" version of this.

So just a message for a Gort.

That's great audio, and a cool interview. Can't wait for these to get released. Sounds like Page wanted them out by now.

I hope they do Song Remains The Same, original mix, even if it is a frankenstein. I still love it, more than the recent remake of it

Nice to have the extra tracks but you just can't beat that original mix of No Quarter.

I would love to see the albums in hi-rez as part of these sets. Here's hoping.

What Page didn't say is they are still working on the design of the scarf and wall size poster for each box......

Absolutely. Chopping up that incredible version of No Quarter should have been a crime punishible by law.

Thanks to the OP for posting this...I was starting to lose hope and began thinking this project was going the way of that new material Page has been promising since the year 2000.

As a huge fan I am, of course, massively excited about this. But the thought of buying music I've had for ages AGAIN isn't appealing to me as much as it might have in my younger days...

For the vinyl (have they even said there would be vinyl?), pressing plants would be an issue, especially good ones. I think the Beatles Box showed that one big project affects the whole vinyl industry nowadays. Add in Record Store Day and Black Friday and it's a mess. Until they find a way to build new presses (which doesn't look likely) this is a problem that's going to get worst.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't heard the iTunes mastering but I trust people here that it's very good and not too compressed. I hope the CDs will use the same mastering (or a better one of course).
