I was never a die-hard Trekkie, but I love the first 6 movies with the original cast... and Spock is, of course, one of the most iconic characters in all of sci-fi.
Mr. Nimoy will be sadly missed. RIP :(

(The guys from Big Bang Theory are going to be devastated.... how much do you want to bet that they'll reference this news in a future episode?)

I've grown up with Leonard Nimoy and his Mr. Spock character.
Ever since I was in grade school, he's been a part of my life.
Thank you Leonard. You will most certainly be missed.

  3. Wow I missed this completely as I was at a company meeting. RIP Mr. Spock, Paris and a whole slew of memorable characters.

He was fantastically creepy in the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

    RIP.

Amazing to realize the impact he had on popular culture, considering he was a "supporting actor" on a television series almost fifty years ago.

His appearances on The Simpsons (in "Marge vs. The Monorail" and "The Springfield Files") are two of my favourite episodes! :)

Let's not forget that he was also the voice of Galvatron in Transformers: The Movie (1986)... the only Transformers movie to date that *doesn't* suck!

Selfless to the end, Spock sacrificed himself so everyone would stop talking about a stupid dress.

They just don't get any more iconic than Mr Spock.

I see someone beat me to posting the "challenge" car commercial. Kudos.

    We've all prospered here.

I was two years old when he was in his first two films...that's how long he's been in the business.

I heard about his passing on TV around noon, and I was just floored. I have been a Star Trek fan since the mid-70s when it first began showing in syndication in my area, and Spock was always one of my favorite characters. I used to wish I had Spock around to help me with my high school algebra. RIP Mr. Nimoy.
