    Just read up on them and cant wait to give that one a listen. What a band. OK... Is that fo real?? Love Black Jack.

    This is turning into a great thread... lots of surprises here, the least of which is Crazy Horse?!?.

    Alex Richman - Go Back Upstairs

    From "Salty", the only solo album of the keyboardist and vocalist Alex Richman, released on Capitol in 1972. She later played with the Butts Band (including ex-Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger).

    Ron Nagle - Capricorn Queen

    From "Bad Rice", the only album of the San Francisco singer-songwriter Ron Nagle, released on Warner Bros. in 1970. The album was produced by Jack Nitzsche.
    Ry Cooder is playing electric bottleneck guitar on this track.

    Ron Nagle had founded the short-lived garage rock band The Mystery Trend in 1964.
    In 1979, together with Scott Mathews, he formed another short-lived band called Dūrocs. They released one album and two singles on Capitol.

    No mention of Ry w John Lee Hooker. I think he spent some time w JLH, like maybe a tour or two?

    His reach (and this thread) is far exceeding my expectations. I just love his playing was hoping to find a few nuggets, not a whole gold mine.

    Makes me think we should start a thread about Lowell George, another sweet slider who did some sessions work.

    Yes, but a far more successful album. One which inspired a reunion as 'Little Village'. Unfortunately lightning didn't strike twice.

    From Judy Collins' live album "Living", released on Elektra in 1971. This live album was taken from performances of Judy Collins' various US concert dates in 1970.
    Ry Cooder is playing acoustic guitar on this track.

    This song was written by the actor Stacy Keach with whom Judy Collins was having an affair during that time.

    I love Ry and own the majority of his solo catalog and many other albums he appears on - from Prine to Stones to Feat - but I don't think he ever sounded better than he did on Beefheart's debut LP... gnarliest tone of his career!

    From her self-titled second album, which was released in 1973 on Playboy Records (this label was part of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Enterprises).
    Ry Cooder is playing mandolin on this fine Memphis Minnie cover.
    He is featured on electric bottleneck guitar and electric guitar on another three tracks on this album.
