Video Assistant Referee - the normal ref. can see video shots of incidents during a game, which he is not sure about. I don't know the exact rules of useage but I think it is restricted to goal (or possible goal) incidents and serious foul play.

Video replay type of technology has been in use in the US for a while now. FIFA probably could have started using it at the last WC ...

Looks like I will not be a fellow fanboy even though my local dealer is a Naim dealer. I think Naim components are somewhat overpriced for this retired geezer ...

Most of my Naim gear is 25 years old and going strong. They have been serviced once. Their service dept. is exceptional.
I bought them when I was young, single and no kids !
Some gear is much newer and if I need anything new in future I will look to Naim.
In the long term it is actually very good value for money.

I hear you. I am aware of at least another Naim owner among the participants of this thread ...

I really like the Ormandy recording as well. The SACD is a modest improvement, but it's appreciated.

I know it's not the absolute top choice, but this is probably the one I pull out the most to listen on my big system:

I haven't seen this post. I haven't read this post. I know nothing. I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER C.B.

Same here. C.B. is not exactly some monumental work ...

I'm actually surprised there haven't been more attempts at C.B. in modern multichannel sound. The only ones I'm aware of are this one (long OOP on DVD-Audio), Runnicles on Telarc, and Hickox on Chandos. It's a piece that I think really benefits from modern digital and surround.

But, imho, it does not benefit from repeated replay.

CD from the first Living Stereo box. IMO, one of the best Pathetiques.

Strong Sibelian overtones (never a bad thing!). Seems well performed and is very well recorded.

What do you think of this? I was looking for a good Bruckner 5th, especially an SACD one.
