Do you like alicia de larrocha? She was supposed to be a top Mozart pianist. All her recordings I have came from the Colin Davis RCA Legacy box I posted above ...

From the first Decca Sound box set, which was the very first classical mega box set I ever purchased. I had little to no classical in my collection and that box set helped jump start the obsession in late 2011. This recording will always be special to me because of that. You really have to crank up the volume on some of the mid 80s decca recordings though, a lot of dynamic range!

Recorded 4/16-17/57 in the Syria Mosque, Pittsburgh. Producer: John Coveny. Engineer: Irving Joel. Like the Pennario LP I posted yesterday, it has the "anvil" shape in the deadwax indicating it was pressed in Capitol's Scranton, PA plant.

Looks like this recording is included in the following Steinberg EMI Icon box, which is now OOP. I am glad I grabbed the box a few years ago ...

My LP, like the Pennario LP, is mono. Both were also issued in stereo.

Still one of the better interpretations in my opinion.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!
This is the first photographically documented LP from my new acquisitions from this year's the 1 dollar summer sale at Recordland. This weekend we spent altogether around 5 hours there between Saturday and Sunday. I got 79 LPs (several double albums included) and 5 box sets (also 1 CAD each) so far.

We are getting all the smoke from the horrific British Columbia forest fires... so sad that wildlife and fauna is being lost and many thousand of persons displaced, possibly losing their homes.

    On the TT.....:tiphat:

Not really.....nothing I would want in my collection. I have a couple of things on CD in compilations.

I'm more familiar with the Stravinsky. I do like both performances on this CD.

Probably will just listen to the Sonata and then move on to something else. This is lovely music, though.
