Atterberg seems to be cropping up a lot at the moment. It's a gap in my collection that I must investigate.

A short biography. I would add he's worth checking out if you like Scandinavian composers.

I'm a big Sibelius and Nielsen fan and have some recordings of Gade and Berwald but Atterberg passed me by.

That's what I've been working on lately, having a listen to (mostly modern) composers that I never got around to before. :)

I like Holmboe a lot. Most of what I have is on BIS. The only album I own that is skipable, IMO, it the guitar works. They aren't bad, just not up to the rest of his works. The concertos and symphonies are especially good.

About a year ago, eclassical had some Sterling albums on sale but every review I found really panned them so I didn't buy any.

Atterberg is a composer I've never listened to. I notice it says Swedish Romantics in the upper left. Did he really write romantic music even though his career had to start well after most composers weren't writing romantic music anymore?

    Pretty much Late Romantic stylistically.

I have a 5 disc EMI France boxed set of Dutilleux. The symphonies aren't the same conductors so this looks very interesting to me.

Just checked and there is a little overlap, L'Arbre des songes, some of the chamber works, Le Loup fragments, Trois strophes sur le nom de Sacher and the piano works performed by Anne Queffélec
