Now playing SACD1 - Symphony No. 8 from the following twofer for the first listen on this public holiday, though everyday is pretty much the same for this retired geezer ...
No, they weren’t. Police claims no leads, but word out on the street is that it was an organised attempt to buy out the store owners, who also own the entire apartment building above. Somebody from a bar next door filmed the entire scene and the police apparently has the video. Supposedly a guy carrying a suitcase full of cash turned up next day and offered to buy the whole house. These are all allegations, but they kind of make sense—why would a gang of people attack a store like that for no reason?
Enjoying this recording with my new Sennheiser HD 800S headphones. They are so detailed and transparent.
The arsonists probably work for the Deutschland mafia. They all operate the same way, when they make an offer, no one can refuse them ...
The Kleiber Brahms is also available on Blu-ray Audio. Can't remember the sound as I never cared for the performance or the sub par recording.
Have you heard Boult's Schumann from the late fifties? He studied the music with one of clara Schumann's pupils. They are sensational and quite different from the traditional performances. Released by First Hand Records.
I'm so fed up with Mahler. I can easily live the rest of my life without hearing Mahler again. Except for a song or two.
Yes it is the old ones. But there is a mistake at the end of the first movement of No 4, a repeat is missing. Karajan recorded nos 4-6 in the late seventies for DG as well.
My main rig needs a nice SACD player before I can enjoy the better SACD sound. The Yamaha universal player is with the guestroom sound system ...
I have the evil twin ... BTW, how much does your fave record store charge for a second-hand CD? Just curious ...
Now playing the following SACD from my Chopin collection. @DeepFloyd11, is Pollini one of your fave pianists?
Agreed 100 %. I have bought very few of their used CDs. Mainly some rock CDs I did not bring from Mexico and my husband did not have in his collection. I need to bring my CDs from Mexico - that will happen sometime in the future when my Mama is not alive anymore...
