:edthumbs: Some of Cantatas found in the Harnoncourt Complete Bach Cantatas box were actually performed by the Leonhardt Consort ...

Strongly :agree:. I have quite a number of Debussy recordings and found some of his piano works quite lovely ...

I like the individual movements, but somehow it doesn't quite all add up to my satisfaction. By the fifth movement my interest is flagging.

You're praise is is higher than mine! I remembered somewhat liking the waltz movement and the heroic theme with the brass towards the end, but on the whole...I have trouble seeing it as a whole. I much prefer Saint-Saëns' Third, but even that one, for me, doesn't reach the same heights as the German symphonists.

Good work. Sometimes a visual nudge can help.

I can't say I strongly dislike Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique. I am actually a bit neutral about it ...

I am actually surprised I have not seen the name Jaap Schröder, who was close to Leonhardt and served as the concertmaster of the AAM under Christopher Hogwood, who himself was a harpsichord student under Leonhardt ...

I also don’t get Berlioz but I love Debussy. He’s one of my favorite composers. In general, I really like 20th century French composers and some of the late romantic ones.

I have the following Bernstein Wagner CD with Eileen Farrell but cannot say I was too impressed with her vocal prowess. She was no Birgit Nilsson ...

When it comes to the Liebestod, I have yet to hear a soprano who can top Birgit Nilsson. I have the following box and @DeepFloyd11 may have the vinyl evil twin ...

I would not even try as it would cost too much $$ ...

Are there some 100 recordings in this series?

Yes. I think it was around 100. I remember there was a time when you could buy the whole set and I balked on getting it. I wish I had bought it.
