Searched and there hasn't been a thread like this but here goes.

I love the idea of a band playing at a small venue, especially when they could easily sell out a larger venue. There's something special about an intimate performance, and it's almost like the show is being performed just for you.

One release that comes to mind (and the reason I created this thread) is:
From The Vault: Live at the Marquee Club 1971 - The Rolling Stones

    What are some others?

(For the sake of keeping the discussion on topic
    1. No bootlegs
    2. Small venue = 2000 or less capacity)

I don't know about capacity but Rolling Stones Stripped is a fine live album in my mind.

Brian Wilson's Roxy album should feel all comfy but it still feels distant to me.

    McCartney's Unplugged is amazing.

Metallica's Live at Grimey's was recorded at The Basement, a venue beneath Grimey's New & Preloved Music in Nashville. My favorite live recording of theirs.

'Etta James Rocks the House', boy does she ever on this recording. The audience becomes part of the rhythm on some of it, and you get the feel of being in a sweaty, smoky club where magic is happening...

For Kinks fans, To The Bone has live cuts that were recorded in their Konk Studios, with an audience. I love them. The sound is very close and intimate.
