My wonderful fiance gave me this (she's a keeper alright! Uh, the girl I mean. And the gift).

It's the Bottlehead Foreplay Line Stage kit!

Now all I have to do is put the thing together.

First timer here, wish me luck!

When I get this thing done I need to think about amps. Those little 10 watt monoblocks from Antique Soundlabs at $99 each might be just the ticket.

    Merry Christmas all,
    Dan C

Well Dan, you're not the only one to get a great Christmas gift.

I just received an email notification from an online seller of used CDs that a copy of the Nat King Cole CD, Love Is The Thing on the DCC label had come in, and it was reserved for me. I just finished placing my order.

Now here's the gift part: it's selling price was $8.99! :D

    Hints? Me?
She made out well this year too. Somehow I managed to catch a few of those "hints" myself! That stiff breeze over my head, those were the ones I missed. ;)

    Hey Dan,

Congrats. on your Christmas present. I bet you can't wait to get the ol soldering gun out.

Your Fiance might be a mind reader. Could come in handy!

A great little kit, and easy to build, but take your time. The varnish on the magnet wire they supply can be a pain to burn off. The most frequent post on their forum from someone building one is hummmmm, usually from a bad solder joint.

Hmm, even Santa is getting naughty these days. ;) Good lock to the virgin soldering hunk. Practice makes perfect. (Practice on something else, that is.)
