Yes Going for the One another great 8th studio album from a cool band.
Hello and welcome! Great picks for a first post! Enjoy your time Here!
The Pretty Things
Siouxsie and the Banshees
ELO Discovery another classic 8th studio album,i like this post.
A favorite and one I revisit often
Kraftwerk Computer World one of their great albums and their 8th one.
First band I thought of when I saw the thread title but could not have said which their eighth album was. But in addition to number of albums it's how long this group has been together with the same three member nucleus. I saw them in Providence, RI last month and they were wonderful. The show was seamless with one composition morphing into another at times and Ira, Georgia, and James playing a variety of instruments sometimes within the same song. So both tightly rehearsed but with their usual moments, or even minutes, of ear cleaning improvisation. All of this on the second night of Rosh Hashonah. I think it must be about 35 years they've been together. Could they really be that old, or that young when they started?
Mike Oldfield Crises another great album and his 8th studio one, this threads hot.
How about by the 22nd?
This Is Where I Came In - Wikipedia
Circle - Guillotine
Bad Religion Stranger than fiction
The Who Quadrophenia
and at least a dozen great albums after that
The greatest studio 8th album
Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band I think I'll stop there on the best one. FC.
how about 8 and on for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Let Love In (1994)
Murder Ballads (1996)
The Boatman's Call (1997)
No More Shall We Part (2001)
Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus (2004)
Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (2008)
Push the Sky Away (2013)
Skeleton Tree (2016)
Dave Alvin - West of the West
NRBQ - Tiddlywinks
Procol Harum - Grand Hotel
This is very subjective - anyone who's a real fan of a certain band or artist with a decent (time wise) recording career would consider at least 8 of their albums great.
I wasn’t crazy about their eighth album, Experimental Jet Set..., but they made some great ones after that.
Swing Out Sister - Where Our Love Grows
Please don't forget about The Boss!
Bruce Springsteen had eight classic albums in a row, from his first to his eighth, which I think is absolutely exceptional:
Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ
The Wild, The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle
Born To Run
Darkness On The Edge Of Town
Born In the USA
Tunnel Of Love
All eight albums currently have 4.5 or 5 star ratings on Allmusic. It's an unbelievable string of albums, and in my personal opinion, it has not been matched before or since!
Well.... since 2006 Beach House have made seven great albums and there's no reason why the eight should be a clunker!
EDIT: In case you butt in & say "well, it's actually #7..", the cat no is U2-8 (just like TJT is U2-6).
in the nick 'o time
