I have the original LP in mono but not in great condition at all. Would be nice to have it on CD. Strange it hasn't been released before on CD.
Got it thanks. Still mono for mono sake, meh. I never play the mono mixes on those VElvet underground 45th sets. The stereo mix for this album sounds great as it is.
Shack always managed to reference Love and The Byrds in appropriate and tasteful ways in their own music. Michael's brother John could also shred on an electric 12-string (just as Mr. Echols did) when called upon to do so.
Glade Forever Changes is getting a 50th anniversary release. Back in the day I was very familiar with Love having bought Love & Da Capo when Forever Changes came out late 1967 I picked it up immediately have so many great memories listening to it. I used to have the LP under my arm and take it everywhere I went to play it for friends great times man.
That's not the font – it's nothing like it. The Love logo was hand drawn and was never a typeface/font.
Sounds interesting. I had never seen the 1968 promo film. Somehow I missed it. The guitar solo at 3:10 is totally great.
Hey @RoryMcBride I certainly have heard of Half Man Half Biscuit and even more unbelievable but very true the guy who cuts my hair, Gerry Kenny (AKA Sir Freddie Viadukt, The Minister Of Noise) produced HMHB's first single/EP 'The Trumpton Riots' in his cottage near Warrington where I go for my haircut. Gerry is a very interesting guy and a fine musician, I may post a thread about him on here but will check with him first.
I wonder if they’ll quietly do a new regular single CD release of the album with the newish Botnick remaster? I’d like that, but as much as I love Forever Changes, I don’t want a 12x12 boxset failing to fit on my CD rack.
Pretty unremarkable promo film. I first saw this on a Rhino promo reel when they re-released 'Forever Changes'. Of course, I was excited to see footage of the band from '68 but the fact that band finally shows up in the last minute of the video was pretty disappointing. I'm sure they were promoting Arthur and thinking they were being artsy and hip. It's hardly a selling point in my world. Unless there's more and they haven't told us about it yet.

Intriguing. I wonder what the source of the mono mix is. Also, no alternate '70s mix so the previous 2-disc set will still be essential.
The word I got from Michael is March or April. Delays due to a move by the Pub, and illness. Back on track, we hope!! Thanks for your patience. Like Michael told me, at least he has his book available as an eBook!!
damn sounds so good BUT, and a big BUT...another F'n forced useless vinyl which drives up the price for those who have absolutely no use for vinyl...hopefully they will nix the useless vinyl and reissue it properly.
