Is there a place to buy these critters in the San Fernando Valley?

If not which Internet ones would you recommend?

I purchase from Bags Unlimited. They are www.bagsunlimited.com. They run a 3 full page ad in every issue of Goldmine magazine. They have been in the "record protection" business for many years.

I've purchased many things from them over the years and I highly recommend them.

I recommend them too! Those are the boxes I use. You can get a big batch of 50 for reasonable dollars.

However - they are no where near "Red Trumpet" quality!! :D

B/U has my vote also. The few times I tried to take shortcuts and use someone else, I always had a bad experience.

    I disagree.

    (Feel better, now? ;) )

I use plain pizza boxes - they cost me about .50 cents each. Canadian. Local - no shipping.

Where in Toronto is the San Fernando Valley district?

Well... are there any box manufacturers locally?

San Fernando must be down by the lake shore somewhere..... ;)

Yes, we're all in "agreeance" as Fred Durst might say...

Just got back, some of these are really grungey looking but I think a little soap and water will do the trick. Thanks for the heads up Gary.

Mushrooms make great packing material. They absorb the shock of the USPS frisbee matches.....

Pizza boxes actually make sense, My most recent e-bay purchase was delivered this way. I was horrified at first when I saw it but quickly realized it was very sturdy and non crushable. Thanx Todd.

The only problem, Todd, is that the pizza is pretty cold when it gets to you, huh? ;)

Of course these are plain white boxes - not used Pizza-Pizza boxes, Larry! Excellent for LPs.

Check the yellow pages for packaging supplies.
13x13x4 or 14x14x6 work great and cost about $2,50 each.
I shipped one to Germany - Best packaging ever was my feedback.
I received one from Canada in a flat cardboard wrap. LP arrived safe, yet I would always pack better.
If you have a packaging manufacture like Mark Container in your area, you can pcik up over runs cheap. Like a Pizza box out of spec or ?

At my family job, I used to get all of our boxes from Argrov Box Co. in Dayton, OH. http://www.argrov.com . They've got it listed under "bookfolds" as part # 'LP ALBUM'. Heh. Used to get the #0 sized shipping envelopes (Argrov's part # CB-0), which fit a CD nicely. These, however, are corrugated and not the bubble type of padding, which made them a little more sturdy for mail or UPS. IIRC, they also had a slightly "sticky" inside so the contents would not shift around. Technically, a CB-6 envelope would fit an LP, since it's 12½" x 17". Probably good enough to ship one or two LPs.
