Typical Besson stylized action theme with reworked / retweaked storyline. Think Limitless meets X-Men meets Matrix. I'm a sucker for his work

Always refreshing to see action movies with a female lead.

Nice to see Besson returning to his roots using females for leading roles. Korean bad boy Choi Min-sik (Oldboy) is a pleasant surprise.

    This looks great!

  6. An finally another Morgan Freeman film with a younger white woman main character. It's been awhile. There have been many. This is not a racist statement it's a cinematic fact.

Really not a Scarjo fan, but with Under the Skin on tap and now this, she seems have scored two of the coolest looking films of the season. I guess I'll just have manage to suffer through

I thought this was a Lucille Ball biopic...couldn't imagine what Morgan Freeman was doing in it...

    Agreed.
In that field, Angelina Jolie's excellent work on movies such as the Tomb Raiders, Wanted and Salt is much missed. I'm not claiming those movies are masterpieces but Angelina sure knows how to deliver a terrific performance in an action flick. Too bad she looks semi-retired now...

This Besson movie looks intriguing. And, I'll always pay a ticket to see Scarlett on the big screen; no question asked.

Thx for posting. I'm a big fan of most of besson's work (starting with Subway way back) and some of johansson's work. I hope it'll be a cool flick!!!!

I'd probably watch Scarlett in a bad movie, so I'm definitely in for this. Looks great!

They ought to get Besson to direct an X-Men movie.

Scarlett is also in the avant-garde sci-fi film "Under The Skin" which opens in limited release this weekend.

Alright, they got me. I'm in! I like Bresson very much and I too like the female action hero angle, especially since it's Scarlett as the action hero. I enjjoyed Salt and a more buddy pick sort of - Wanted. But let me state I would have been perfectly fine with Angelina, Charlize or Sandra Oh, Anna Farris, Emma Stone, Sally Field or Meryl Streep in this role! Just kidding, Emma Stone is too much a classical actress... :) My point is the actress themselves are secondary to the action in this kind of film. Should be a fun ride with an interesting concept.

Here's something to ponder: you are acquiring high mental capabilities at an exceedingly high speed, and your first thought is to wage war on people. How is it high intelligence leads to violence? I find it interesting that this is the conclusion our popular culture and storytelling drifts to.

What would you do in the same situation? For me, some women are turned on by a high IQ - just saying!

"Columbiana" is my most recent "action heroine" movie, and Besson had a strong hand in that one. And Zoe I really enjoy. Looking forward to this one.
