And yet "Lucy" killed "Hercules" at the box office with a $44 million opening vs. $29 million.

I agree, I was over it once Buffy The Vampire Slayer went off the air.

It's hardly just that. Have you seen it?

Yeah, I know there's a little more to the story but not enough to make me pay to see it. Variations on a theme.

just watched Limitless I'm really pumped for Lucy!

  6. Saw it loved it and the full theater enjoyed it Friday night. I read a bunch of crappy reviews afterwards. Lighten up I say. They all attacked the science. Hey it's sci fi.

The cgi towards the end was a bit over the top otherwise very enjoyable.

Even scifi needs to have some internal logic (otherwise it's just fiction or fantasy), but here it is even worse because it's predicated on a supposed truth - that we use 10% of our brains - which is simply asinine. If you're gonna make crap up at least don't base it on discredited factoids.

I enjoyed it till near the end when she went past 80%.

  9. It's fiction ok not sci fi then. It's fantasy. Of course it's made up. Of course it's all made up.

    Start there then.

Then the two of you should go see it, since both of these statements are totally off the mark.

  17. Absolutely. I go into any fiction film leaving reality behind and allow the story to take me wherever it chooses to go.

  19. What about when Lucy's voice broke in Vain during If I Fell?

I did not see the movie, so I'll take your word for it.

  21. This was me being snarky for the pages of back and forth about McCartneys voice break in the song and ragged repair in the recently issued A Hard Days Night. Nothing to do w Lucy.

I guessed it was a snarky remark, but hey I played along with you.
If I fell: it must be really hard to watch a movie when one goes into it to find a nit pick ...I watch a movie to enjoy it.

If the trailer doesn't grab me and the plot looks a little generic, and I don't particularly like the main actors (dislike them somewhat actually) why would I spend my money? Yes, there may be a new little twist, but not enough for me to open my wallet. When I can see it through our Netflix account, then yeah, I'll give it a go.

I thought it was okay. Didn't care for the ending.

Perhaps my remarks are little flippant but saying "totally off the mark" is none better. As my later post said - variations on a theme, looks like the film is really nothing more than that.
